You could get your Warmer Kiwi Homes insulation for FREE!
Great News! As a partner of the Government's Warmer Kiwi Homes programme, we are able to provide up to 100% off insulation for eligible households across the Wellington region. Call and book today! It’s a time-limited offer.
Indeed, through Sustainability Trust, low-income homeowners are now eligible for subsidies covering the cost of ceiling insulation, underfloor insulation, ground vapour barrier supply and install.
Over 20,000 insulation and heating retrofits have already been delivered since this programme was launched in July 2018 and this new announcement will ensure that more people in need will get a chance to have a warmer, drier, healthier home.
By insulating homes we’re helping to ensure that no one is forced to live in a cold, damp home, which leads to poor health outcomes. Investing in quality insulation and efficient systems is a win for people, the planet, and the economy.
Thanks to the Warmer Kiwi Homes programme we’ve been able to increase the subsidy on heat pumps too. We now offer heat pumps at 90% subsidised, meaning you as the homeowner will only pay 10 % (sometimes less) of the full cost of the heat pump and installation cost. Click here to find out more.
Am I eligible?
This funding is available for homeowner-occupiers in Wellington City, Porirua, Kapiti Coast, Upper and Lower Hutt. To be eligible, you must live in the home and have a Community Services Card OR live in a lower-income area.
What is a low-income area and where are they?
Deprivation 8, 9 & 10 zones are areas identified by the Government as lower income.

The next step is to get in touch with our Customer Services team, who can confirm your eligibility for the funding. To do this, either fill out the form on this page, email us on subsidies@sustaintrust.org.nz or call us on 0508 78 78 24.
Once this is completed and you have been found to be eligible if you're in the Greater Wellington region one of our home energy experts will need to visit your property and undertake a free assessment and quote. After payment is confirmed, we will then arrange a suitable time for the insulation install.
