Let’s get growing!

We are excited to be collaborating with the Wellington Timebank on our Welly Urban Food Org. (UFO) project. Working together, we'll expand our UFO network and help facilitate urban agriculture volunteering around Pōneke.
 
The Wellington Timebank uses time as currency. It is a community-based system where people helping each other are rewarded with time credit that they can use later.  It is a community that acknowledges that everyone has something to give, and everyone’s time is of equal value. Timebank provides a great way of learning new skills, sharing talents, and being part of an active and engaged community.

Because any gift of skills is rewarded with time credits, it means time spent helping within our urban agriculture community people are rewarded, not only with a sense of wellbeing and connection but also time credits that can be used /given in exchange for things they need/want help with.   
 
Now, when you sign up to Timebank, you have the option of selecting urban agriculture as an area of interest. If you select this option, we’ll contact you directly about urban agriculture happenings across the city and opportunities for getting involved.
